Game Mechanics
- A team/pair is composed of two players as listed and approved by the Tournament Technical Committee.
- Elimination, quarter-final, semi-final, and final rounds will be played as one straight game to 25 points, with no deuce. Players exchange courts at 13 points.
- Warm-up time on court is restricted to one minute.
- One shuttle is included per game. Each extra shuttle costs SAR 10, divided among the four players.
- All umpire decisions are final. The umpire may pause play or delay the event during a dispute, including making a “LET†decision. Matters not resolved by these Ground Rules shall be referred to the Tournament Committee and decided by the Technical Head.
- No timeouts are allowed during game play. A water break is allowed when changing courts.
Match Rules
The elimination round uses a single round-robin system.
Ranking
Ranking will be decided in sequence by:
- Number of wins.
- For a two-way tie, the winner of the head-to-head match.
- For a three-way tie, the point system. If a two-way tie remains, the winner of the head-to-head match.
Skill Leveling Disqualification
If a player is protested for competing outside their respective skill level, or is suspected of sandbagging, the SANIB Committee may stop the match, conduct a review, and take appropriate action, including disqualification. A disqualified participant forfeits their non-refundable entry fee.
Injury and Retirement
- An injured player may request an injury timeout of up to five minutes for medical treatment or assistance.
- If the player remains unable to continue after five minutes, the match will be forfeited and the opponent declared the winner. Player replacement or substitution is not allowed.
Walkover Rules
- First Call: Pairs are informed of their scheduled game and assigned court.
- Teams must report to the assigned court at least 10 minutes before the scheduled match.
- A five-minute grace period is provided after the match is called.
- Final Call: Made immediately after the preceding match on the assigned court. If both team members fail to appear within the grace period, the team receives a walkover loss.
Replacement of Players
- No player replacement is allowed after a game has already been played.
- No player replacement is allowed on tournament day.
Equipment and Attire
- Players must wear appropriate sports attire and non-marking shoes.
- Players shall provide their own rackets.
- Shuttlecocks will be supplied by the organizer unless otherwise announced.

Player Conduct
All players shall demonstrate good sportsmanship; respect opponents, officials, and spectators; avoid abusive language and unsportsmanlike conduct; and follow organizer safety instructions. The committee may issue warnings, deduct points, or disqualify players for misconduct.
Protests and Disputes
Any protest must be submitted to the Tournament Committee immediately after the match. Decisions made by the Tournament Committee are final.
Tournament Committee Decision & Authority
Any tournament dispute shall be referred to the Tournament Committee, whose decision is final and binding. The committee may amend schedules due to unforeseen circumstances, interpret and enforce tournament rules, and resolve matters not specifically covered by these regulations.
